Ajay Jayswal, Ph.D.
Materials Scientist
Dr. Jayswal is a materials scientist specializing in polymer composites, additive manufacturing, and multifunctional materials for structural and thermal applications. Currently as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), his research focuses on the design and 3D printing of textile-inspired metamaterials, polymer nanocomposites, thermomechanical characterization for advanced energy systems, and synthesis of vitrimers-based recyclable self-reinforced high-performance polymer composites.
He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University, where his work advanced understanding of polymer-based flexible structures fabricated by material extrusion based additive manufacturing. His contributions span experimental research, finite element modeling, and process optimization for next-generation composite materials. Ajay has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, presented at international conferences, and holds patent disclosures related to energy-absorbing metamaterials, and design of novel reusable facemasks.
